Natural Science isn't only one subject. 'Natural Science' is basically a term that holds together different disciplines that explains the natural phenomenon happening around us using different scientific methods. It is distinguished from social sciences (such as sociology and psychology) which are more primarily concerned with explaining social environments and human activity. Natural Science branches out to astronomy, biology, chemistry, earth science and physics. Other disciplines that can be found under Natural Science are astrophysics, biophysics, physical chemistry, geochemistry, biochemistry, astrochemistry. Astronomy This is the study of celestial bodies (stars, planets, comets, nebulae and galaxies) and phenomena that originate outside the atmosphere of the Earth. Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences. Biology This is the study of life and living organisms. This includes their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution and taxonomy. This branch of science contains many subdivisions and topics such as biochemistry (chemistry of life), molecular biology (biological molecules), cellular biology (basics of blocks of life), cell physiology (functions of tissues, organs and organ system of organisms) and ecology (interaction of organisms with their environment) Chemistry This is the study of matter especially its chemical reactions, compositions, structure and properties. Chemistry focusses on the properties of substances and the interactions between them. This study helps us to understand the world around us Earth Science This is the study of the planet Earth. Earth Science is also known as Geoscience. This study also uses different sciences such as chemistry, biology, chronology and mathematics to understand how our planet works and evolves. Earth Science recognizes four spheres: lithosphere (rocks), hydrosphere (waters), atmosphere (air) and biosphere (life). Physics This is the study of matter and it's motion through space and time. It also covers related concepts such as energy and force. It is also the general analysis of nature in order to understand how the universe behaves. This study also covers how mater and energy interact with each other. Physics deal with subjects raging from sub-atomic particles to stars and the galaxies Sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_science http://www.buzzle.com/articles/what-are-the-main-branches-of-natural-science.html http://chemistry.about.com/od/chemistry101/a/basics.htm http://physics.about.com/od/physics101thebasics/f/WhatisPhysics.htm

Very Informative. Simple, comprehensive, and easy to understand. This would be of big help to a lot of students, especially to grade schoolers who are just beginning to learn the basics of science and are still in the process of learning new words and complex sentences.
